Ravi Kitchannagari Profile

Art of Dispensing was founded by Ravikanth Kitchannagari, a seasoned optical professional with over 20 years of experience spanning vision care, retail optics, and optical mechanics. His career includes leadership roles in both India and Australia, notably managing a busy optometry practice in Sydney for many years.

Ravikanth’s diverse background combines technical precision with creative flair. Beginning his career as an animator and technical artist in India, he later transitioned into optics, earning distinctions in Optical Mechanics and Optical Dispensing from TAFE. He has also completed studies in database design and holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, further reinforcing his strengths as an educator.

Driven by a passion to make optical education more accessible, Ravikanth created Art of Dispensing to bridge the gap between academic qualifications and hands-on dispensing skills. His courses blend technical depth with visual clarity, reflecting his unique cross-disciplinary experience.

Ravikanth’s mission is clear: to empower aspiring eyewear professionals with practical, flexible, and engaging training that prepares them for success without the limitations of traditional pathways. Is this course nationally accredited?

No. This is a non-accredited professional development program. In Australia, there is currently no licensing requirement to work as an optical dispenser. Our course is designed to provide full training in optical dispensing, aligned with industry expectations and delivered by experienced professionals.

No, we are not an RTO. Our focus is on flexible, high-quality education that’s accessible to learners across Australia and internationally. While we do not offer formal certification under the Australian VET system, our training is on par with or more detailed than many accredited programs.

No. Only RTOs with the qualification on their scope can issue a Certificate IV. However, upon successful completion of our course, you’ll receive a Certificate of Completion that recognises your learning and practical skill development.

Yes in part. Our curriculum is informed by publicly available training package information from training.gov.au and developed by industry-experienced trainers. While we do not deliver official units of competency, our content is structured to reflect real-world dispensing practices.
